my loves

I'm enjoying a rare moment of starbucks serenity, sipping on a decaf grande non-fat upside down caramel machiato (sp?) and tyring to soak in every second. It's been a busy few days. We traveled to NC for Easter weekend and enjoyed hanging out with the Burtons and the Russells, but the trip home still has me frazzled. Nothing like cramming into a small, confining space with young children. The Easter pictures will be posted soon, but I had to go ahead and post this one. My sweet friend Christie took it while we visited together a few weeks ago. I love it because it captures the essence of my everyday...Sam drooling on my lap and Kate hanging all over me. I love it. Yes, even the drool.

So sorry, friends and family. It's been a long time since a post with pictures (the only kind worth posting if you ask the grandparents!), but we've been having some technical difficulties. Actually, our neighbor, Wanda, who so graciously allows us to use her wireless connection, has been having some technical difficulties. That's the thing about mooching off of someone else's internet. It's great while it's up and running, but you can't very well call them up when it's on the fritz and say "Hey, how about fixing your connection...and the quicker the better!" So, while we're enjoying a rare moment of internet access, I'm going to attempt to load as many pictures as possible. Now, try not to be too disappointed by the lack of commentary...I'm in a bit of a rush. And , before I lose you to the photos (as if I haven't already), let me assure you that my morally sound husband asked Wanda if we could use her connection. We may be cheap, but we're no thieves! Enough of me....enjoy the kiddos!

no please

Sam tried his hand at cereal tonight. Didn't go so well. But, it offered him an excellent opportunity to sport his Carolina bib!

Being this stinkin' cute is harder than it looks. First, you have to hunt down mommy's "Hooter Hider" (don't take offense, people, I didn't name the thing but I sure do love it!). Next, you must open the closet door and reach all the way up to mommy's brown flats. Finally, you have to find the perfect shade of crayon (yes, crayon) to complete the look. It may look effortless in the end, but, trust me, Kate has had LOTS of practice.
Ashley, did I ever thank you for your gift? I think of you every time I use this one (I have a second one called "chocolate"). Is it kind of weird that I often think of you as I prepare to nurse Sam? Hmmm.....
Please forgive me if I never said thanks. I absolutely love it and people ask me all the time where I found it. I, in turn, always give props to my super sweet and ultra stylish friend, you. Thanks so much!

girlfriends

We had a rare opportunity to hang out with some Florida buddies a few weeks ago...here's Kate and her girl Anna (a.k.a. Christie's mommy). It was so good to see you two!

I love my friends...they're too sweet to tell me about the mistake I've made just above. To clarify, Anna is NOT Christie's mommy. Christie, rather, is Anna's mommy. I've said it before, and I'll say it again...I'm a dork through and through.

TOO CUTE!

Oh boy. This is going to be a mushy, sentimental post. I can feel it. But, seriously, how can I help myself? Look at this handsome fella! I just have to take one second to say how thankful I am for this little guy. He was SO worth the fight.

Just realized that some might think it a bit arrogant of me to title this post TOO CUTE. I'm not arrogant, really, just honest. (I'm still sounding arrogant, aren't I?)

chit chat

Me: Why did you wake up last night?

Kate: I needed my daddy.

Me: Why did you need your daddy?

Kate: 'Cause he's my prince!
