hugs to daddy

Kate and I are in North Carolina for the week. She, of course, is getting spoiled rotten. When we arrived last Sunday, it looked like Christmas at Nana's house. NanNan had a new bear for Kate, and Mamal and Papaw Burton had jewels, babies, and Veggie-Tales. (Poor Miss Kate is in for rude awakening when she gets back home.)
Although we're having a wonderful time, we miss Stephen. Kate wanders around the house holding her hands out, shrugging her shoulders, and saying "Daddy? Daddy?" It's pitiful, but it the cutest way possible. I'm not faring much better. Miss you, Stephen.

a day with aunt stacy...check out those tails!

keep on truckin'

Kate had a good ole time in the back of Pops's red pick-up truck. You know what they say...you can take the girl out of the South, but you can't take the South out of the girl. Bye, Ya'll!

missing daddy

Daddy wins the prize for making the best bath. To him, bathtime just isn't bathtime without tons of bubbles ("bubbas"). And with so many bubbles, who could resist wearing an adorable bubble-hat? Or is that a wig? A helmet? Hmmm....

baby's bad day

I had one of those rotten, no-good stinky kind of days today. But, if we're giving out awards for whose day was the stinkiest, I think Baby might win.

the best medicine

So what's the cure for a rotten, no-good, stinky day? You're looking at her! I feel better already.

feeling croupy :(

I learned two interesting tid-bits yesterday. One, "fishes" is actually a word. Who knew? Secondly, "croupy" is not a COG-inspired euphemism for "crappy," but actually refers to a common childhood illness--an illness with which teamburton has now become well acquainted. You guessed it...Kate has croup. The croup, as Nana would say. She was feeling pretty rotten yesterday, but I'm seeing glimmers of the old Kate this afternoon. Just now, for example, as I was uploading her sad picture, she walked into the room smelling really nice, too nice. At first, I didn't think much of it...and then I saw the bottle of Caress body wash. Uh oh.
So, I think we're on the up and up. And the carpet is shower-fresh.

miss thang

Lest you forget how our Kate normally looks and acts...here she is in all her glory, shades and all.
I think we're in trouble!
