It's a boy!
Baby boy Burton is on his way! Stephen, Kate and I all crammed into an ultrasound room on Monday hoping to hear exactly who we're waiting to meet. I'm so excited, but I have to admit, it's taken me a few days to get used to the idea of having a boy...I'm not sure I know what to do with a boy!
We have a name, but we're waiting just a little longer before making the big announcement. Stay tuned!
BIG News for TeamBurton!
TeamBurton is moving! Stephen has just recently accepted a position in Kennesaw, Georgia (just north of Atlanta) as Director of Spiritual Life at Mt. Paran Christian School (http://www.mtparanschool.com). We are really excited, but a little heart-heavy, too.
Although I never expected to live in South Florida, it has become home to me in the past four years. This is where Stephen and I fell in love (actually, I first knew I loved him while eating a hamburger in the West Palm airport). It's where we figured out married life (well, where we started figuring out married life), where Kate was born, and where we made life-long friends. We have both loved our jobs. They're more than jobs. Our Maranatha family has loved on us, provided for us, they have been our surrogate family. And JCS, geesh. I learned to love teaching there. My kids, the punks, mean the world to me. And my friends there...I was so nervous when I moved down here after getting married. I was leaving a terrible school in Charlotte, but a great friend, Liz. I was so scared that I wouldn't find that again. I was wrong. Kendal, Jamie, Rachel T., Rachel S., Lisa, Christie, Jill...I love you all so much.
So, enough sap. We're heading out in less than two weeks! I know, crazy! We still need to sell our house, and we would so appreciate your prayers!
work it, girl!
So Kate loves dressing up in mommy's clothes. She'll emerge from my room in high heels, tank tops, and even the occasional unmentionable. But on this particular day, she opted for one of daddy's t-shirts, but not without adding a quintessential Kate off-the-shoulder twist. And the hot pink hand bag just works wonders for the look, don't you think?
where's elmo?
Aunt Stacy and Uncle Ivan visited a few weeks ago, and we all headed off for the water park. Kate was sporting her adorable Elmo swimsuit. She kept getting distracted as she played, looking down and saying, "There's Elmo!" Way cute.
